Background
The Afra Charity Foundation has completed a large-scale aid project to support underprivileged families, particularly mothers and children, during the Persian New Year. This period marks a significant cultural and social transition, where families come together to celebrate, exchange gifts, and welcome a fresh start. However, for many families living in poverty, this time of year can be financially burdensome, preventing them from fully participating in traditional festivities.
This project combines various efforts, including providing new clothing for children and mothers and distributing essential food supplies. The primary goal is to alleviate financial and emotional stress while ensuring that these families can celebrate the Persian New Year with dignity and joy.
By addressing both clothing and food needs, the project aims to enhance the overall well-being of families and provide them with essential resources for a positive start to the year. The project covers 148 families located in Tehran and its surrounding areas, including Varamin, Qods City, and nearby villages. These communities have been identified as areas where economic challenges often hinder families from affording even basic necessities, making this project a crucial support system during an important time of the year.
